PLEXIGLAS® is an extremely versatile plastic with many properties. It is particularly weather-resistant, easy to mold and process and impresses with its extremely low weight and excellent light-conducting properties. “Designers can use the diverse properties to bring their ideas to life,” explains Siamak Djafarian, head of the Business Unit Molding Compounds at Röhm. “It’s no surprise then that PLEXIGLAS® has long been an inspiring material for designers.”
Combining tradition and modernity
PLEXIGLAS® Molding Compounds are used in many different application areas, such as for high-gloss pillar panels in vehicle chassis, or as a light-conducting material in a lamp. “Our material is long established in many application areas; while in others it is used to help create innovations,” says Djafarian. Individual variants of the polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) brand for various requirements are available which are optimized to display different properties. What this means is shown in this film:
